Account

On app.nopilas.online, click “I want an account!”. A username of 3 to 15 characters, an email (only used to recover your password) and a password of at least 5 characters. Your planet is created on the spot, with 1,000 vitarium, 50 robots and 72 hours of protection.

On the game's sign-in page, click “Forgot your password?” and enter your username or your email. You receive a link, valid for one hour, to choose a new password; remember to check your spam folder. If you no longer have access to the address given at sign-up, write to [email protected] describing your planet (name, position, alliance) so we can recognise you.

No. One player, one planet. Multiple accounts — and disguised resource transfers between them through the market — are deleted without warning. It was already the forum rule in 2005.

In the game, Preferences page, “Delete your account” button. It is final: your planet disappears from the map and your personal data is erased.

Your username, your email, your (hashed) password and where your sign-up came from (the site that brought you, with no identifier). No data is sold or shared. The showcase site and the game count their visits with Matomo, hosted by us in Canada, without cookies and with a truncated IP address; Google Analytics only if you accept it in the banner. Neither is linked to your account. The details — person in charge, retention, your rights under Law 25 — are in the privacy policy, at the bottom of every page.

The game

A free, ad-free browser space strategy game. You run a planet: you construct buildings, research technologies, build robots, ships and orbital stations, and attack — or defend — other players' planets.

The game ran from 2005 to 2008 on nopilas.net. It was rebuilt in 2026 from the archives.

Nopilas is not continuous real time: everything moves one step at every round hour — 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm, 3:00 pm. Production, construction, research, movements and battles are resolved then. Between two updates you give your orders. The game keeps running while you sleep.

Yes and no. Like OGame, it is a browser space strategy game: you build, research, raise a fleet, attack or defend, and form alliances. But Nopilas moves by updates on the hour rather than in continuous real time, each player has a single planet, and the game is free, with no ads and nothing to buy. It descends from a line of Québec games of 2001 to 2005, not from OGame.

The guide has an article, “Nopilas vs OGame: what is alike, what is different”, that compares the two point by point.

Ten minutes are enough: start a construction, assign the workforce, check the history. Constructions take hours, sometimes days; there is nothing to click continuously. Active players come back two or three times a day.

On any recent browser, computer, tablet or phone, at app.nopilas.online. There is nothing to install. The game is available in French, English and Vietnamese.

Yes. No subscription, no in-app purchase, no ads, and no advantage for sale. Every player plays by the same rules.

The project

The server was switched off and the source code was lost. All that remained was what the Wayback Machine had kept: the full tutorial, about fifty forum topics, the 2006 changelog and a few images. That is what the game was rebuilt from.

Frédéric Coutu, the original game's creator, at InnoLogiciel (Québec). In 2005 Nopilas was a space counterpart of Bahagon, a Québec game from 2001.

The game's forum has a section for that — it is where the rules get adjusted. For an account issue or a report, use this site's Contact page, or [email protected].

Rules

No. A new player is protected for 72 hours: nobody can attack them, and they cannot attack either. Use that time to build refineries, a robot factory and your first robots.

Every building uses energy every hour. If your production no longer covers consumption, buildings shut down in reverse order of construction — the most recent first — and the cannon and shield switch off. Build one solar plant for every three or four buildings.

Nobody is working on it. On the Population page, assign a percentage of your humans and robots to construction (or manufacturing, or research). A job at 0% does not progress.

Each hour of attack, the game compares both sides' total attack and defence, with everyone's research levels and some randomness. First the space phase (ships and stations), then the ground phase if the attacker still has a transport. The weaker side loses far more than the stronger. The guide has a full page on it.

Partly. Everything that could be found in the archives — the refinery's cost, transport capacity, the annihilator's and Refain station's stats, the hourly update, the four squadrons — is kept as is and tagged [source]. The rest was proposed to stay consistent with those numbers, and is tagged [proposed]. Proposals are discussed on the game's forum.
