Buy / Sell: the market

1 min read

On the Buy/Sell page you put your possessions up for auction — units or buildings. Every player can bid; the highest bidder wins.

Keep in mind

  • A sale cannot be cancelled.
  • If you win an auction, you must buy. Without enough resources you go negative, with a 10% penalty. A 2005 example: you have 600 vitarium and bid 1,000; the penalty is 100, the sale costs 1,100, you end at −500.
  • The system takes a 5% commission: a sale at 100 vitarium nets you 95.
  • A bid cannot exceed half of your available resources, all open bids included.

Buying

The market's main page lists open transactions, sortable by category (ground, ship, station, building, misc.) or by number. Opening a transaction shows the units, the quantity, their cost new — and lets you bid. Your file keeps your transaction history, your open sales and the ones you have bid on.

Selling

Pick what you sell (only items you own in sufficient number appear), the category, the duration (6, 12, 24 or 48 hours), the payment type (vitarium or energy), the starting price and a description.

Against the disguised transfers of old: one buyer cannot win more than three sales per day from the same seller, and members of the same alliance pay 25% commission between them.
