You construct buildings, build an army, do research — somebody has to work. The Population page splits your humans and robots among three jobs, as percentages:
- Building construction
- Army manufacturing
- Research

A job at 0% does not progress: the site or research shows “--”. The higher the percentage, the faster the work. Changes apply from the next update.
Robots and humans do different work
Robots mostly speed up construction sites and factories; humans, research. On a construction site or in a factory, a robot works like four humans; for research, a robot counts as a quarter of a human.
Efficiency
The curve is logarithmic — big effect at first, then a plateau:
efficiency = 1 + ln(1 + workforce / 500)
| Assigned workforce | Efficiency | One refinery (12 h base) |
|---|---|---|
| 0 | — | no progress |
| 500 | 1.7 | 7 h |
| 5,000 | 3.4 | 3 h 30 |
| 70,000 | 5.95 | 2 h |
Building bonuses come on top: +10% per robot factory on ground manufacturing, +10% per research building on research (five of each at most). The page shows the resulting efficiency of each job.
Only robots at the base count. A squadron on a mission brings no workforce.
